Beyond the Book Challenge

Follow along with our Community Read and complete fun activities for a chance to win our One Book, One Ptbo Reading Challenge!

From July 1 to November 7, participate in Beyond the Book Challenge. Stop by either location of the Library to pick up your physical copy, or sign up on the Beanstack app to track digitally.

For each row you complete, you will be entered in a draw to win a prize. Come into the Library and talk to a staff member to get your ballot!

Beyond the Book: Meet the Tortoises

Saturday, September 12 at 2:00 pm

Meet real–life tortoises and learn about their behaviour, habitats, conservation, and the unique traits that make each one special.

Beyond the Book: Inside the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre

Saturday, October 3 at 1:00 pm

Go beyond the pages of The Tortoise's Tale with a visit to the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre. Meet live turtle ambassadors, learn about Ontario's native turtle species and conservation efforts, and explore the Centre's new facility, including views into the surgery room, lab, and hatchling program.

Professor Thomas Luloff from Fleming College will share stories from conservation projects across Ontario and explore how science, education, and everyday actions can help protect the natural world.

One Book, One Ptbo Grand Finale: An Evening with Kendra Coulter

Tuesday, November 3 at 7:00 pm

Celebrate the conclusion of this year's One Book, One Ptbo Community Read with an evening featuring Kendra Coulter, author of The Tortoise's Tale.  Enjoy readings, a live interview, music, and an opportunity to have your book signed.
