Story Time in the Park

drawing of treeWe're taking Story Time to the Park again this summer! In this fun, interactive program, we sing, tell stories and have a lot of fun as a family!

Every Tuesday at 10:30 am, we will be at a new park in the city (weather permitting) – be sure to register online for each week you want to attend. And since we'll be outside, don't forget a blanket, your hat and your singing voice!

Book Buddies Crew

The Book Buddies Crew will meet for four weeks over Zoom, and kids will receive a kit that includes a special badge and all the materials they'll need for the crafts, activities, and games we'll do together.

Each week we'll talk about the books we're reading and listen to stories read aloud.

Please register for either the July or August session. We will let participants know when and where to pick up their kits.

Novel Ideas Gang

The Gang will meet for four weeks over Zoom to share thoughts and opinions about our favourite books and authors, recommended reads and, of course, a few laughs!

Kids will receive a kit that includes some surprises and all the materials they'll need for the crafts, activities, and games we'll do together.

Tribal Vision Dance

Tribal Vision DancerExplore First Nations history and traditions and confront stereotypes in this high-energy, multidisciplinary performance. Visions of Turtle Island includes live singing, dancing, and video and image presentations that will help explain the dances and illustrate the cultural experience of First Nations peoples in Canada. This presentation includes the screening of a professionally produced video followed by a live Q & A.

Ariko Traditional Dance & Rhythm

Ariko BandFamilies can join Ariko to learn a basic rhythm on spoons and a simple step dance. Peppered with traditional music and French vocabulary, this digital workshop will provide a unique cultural experience.

Members of Ariko will meet with participants for a live Q & A following the pre-recorded workshop.

Tim Holland's Comedy Stunt Ventriloquist Show

Tim Holland and his puppetsTim Holland's incredible show features puppets, dangerous juggling objects, and even a high unicycle! You will be amazed by a combination of circus and ventriloquist skills that both entertain and delight.

This show offers something for everyone. The comedy is clean, and the puppets' characters are larger than life.

PJ Family Story Time

We will share stories, rhymes and songs that will help everyone feel cozy and connected. After that, we will work on a special craft together!  

Take & Make activity kits will be available for pick up at the Main Check-Out Desk the week before the program.
