Q: When will the DelaFosse branch reopen? I want to pick my items up there.
A: The DelaFosse branch is remaining closed at this time so we can provide service at the Main Library Branch with limited staff. Your holds will now be available for pick up at the Main branch.
Q: I called the Library and no one answered. Should I leave a message?
A: Yes please! We're sorry we missed your call, but please leave us a message at 705-745-5382 ext 2340 and we will call you back.
Q: How do you ensure that Curbside Pickup is contactless?
A: When you let us know that you've arrived to pick up your items, one of our staff will gather your items, check them out to you, and then bring them outside to the staff station and place them on the table. We ask that you wait until the staff member steps back 2 meters/6 feet from the table before taking your items. The transfer table will also be cleaned between pickups as an extra precaution.
Q: Are library materials safe to borrow? Will I catch COVID-19 from them?
A: We are taking precautions with all library items and putting them into a 3-day quarantine upon their return.

Items will remain on your account for the 3 days while they are in quarantine, then removed. You will not be charged late fines for this material while it is in quarantine

Please be aware that we cannot guarantee the complete sanitization of library items. As books cannot be effectively cleaned and disinfected, the recommendation is that library items are quarantined before use. The quarantine period is subject to change as more information about COVID-19 is known. At this time, the COVID-19 virus can survive up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to 2-3 days on plastic and stainless steel.

Q: How are you keeping staff and members of the public safe?
A: Staff will be practicing physical distancing measures and frequent hand washing as well as using personal protective equipment (PPE) when it is appropriate to do so. Shared surfaces will be disinfected between uses.
