Peterborough Storytellers

FOL Community Room

Come listen, come tell. Listen to master storytellers weave together traditional tales and modern adventures. Try it out for an evening, and you’ll be hooked on the art of storytelling and the joys of learning with a supportive group.

Food for Fines

February 17 – March 3
Main Library area

Now's the time to rid yourself of those pesky fines on your account. 1 non-perishable food item = $2 of fines forgiven. In partnership with Kawartha Food Share.

Drop in and learn about the Kawartha Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society (KBOGS), local resources for your research, and how library staff and local genealogy experts can help you with your family history.

Use your imagination to create with LEGO!  Put your building skills to the test with our LEGO challenges. Drop in, all are welcome.

Knit In

Join us from 10 am – 2 pm at the Peterborough Public Library for a community fiber arts sharing event! Knit, crochet, spin or weave – anywhere you please.

Freedom to Read Week

February 25 - March 3

According to Japanese tradition, if you fold a thousand paper cranes, you can make a single, special wish.  Celebrate your Freedom to Read with us this year by helping the Library staff make our wish:  that people around the world will soon enjoy this same freedom.  Drop in and learn how to make a paper crane any time this week.

Board Games

Love board games? We have a collection of games at both the Children and Teen areas of the library. You can drop by and challenge your friends and family to a game at the library.

In honour of Black History Month we’ll be discussing The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. Refreshments provided and new participants welcome!
