Local Research Requests

The Peterborough Public Library provides a basic reference search for questions received by mail, email or telephone.

Some resources we consult:

• Articles found within the Peterborough Examiner (on microfilm) – name and date(s) within a one-week period must be supplied.
• Ship’s passenger lists for the Peter Robinson emigrations from Ireland in 1823 and 1825 (These are the only ship’s lists held in our collection).
• Historical atlases held in our collection – name and county must be supplied.

A minimum charge of $10.00 plus HST is applied for each search of the above items. Photocopies and microfilm printouts are an additional .50 cents per page. Generally, requests will be completed within two weeks. Due to budget restraints, we regret that we are unable to provide more than the above services.
